St. Luke holds to the infallibility of the Scripture. This means
that We believe that every word in the Bible is God's True Word. His
Word teaches us about the Trinity: Father, Son and the Holy Spirit;
One God in Three Persons of the God-head, and all that he has done
for us. Though mankind has fallen into sin and thus death -
physically and eternally, God has offered us the only way to pay the
penalty of sin. He sent His only begotten Son, Jesus to be born a
human, but also being true God in order to live perfectly under the
Law by keeping it for us in order to free us from bondage over us.
He died on the cross to forgive our sins, and on Easter He rose from
the dead and lives, thus offering the kingdom of heaven to us for
all eternity. There is no work that we as human can do in order to
earn heaven. It has been done completely for us and is given to us
as a gift. Heaven is our home. It is our faith.
Our faith is a precious gift of God given to us in baptism, where
water and Word are joined for our eternal benefit. To aid our faith
God offers to us His Means of Grace - WORD and SACRAMENT to forgive
us, to strengthen us and to preserve us as we live on the earth,
awaiting the time when we will be called home to live on high for
all eternity.
